The Deportees
This quartet is as engrossing to watch as they are to listen to. Playing guitars, mandolin, mandocello, bouzouki & banjo, as well as harmonica & melodeon, the moving feast of their set is almost entirely acoustic, but with some subtle electric guitar & bass touches.
Most of all, though, they all sing, bringing a full sound to songs from both sides of the Atlantic, some self-penned, others by their heroes such as Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams, Bob Dylan, Buddy Holly & Tom Waits.
